26 February
15:00-18:00
As part of our workshop on Water Management, the Water General Directorate will host and guide a site visit showcasing innovative practices and infrastructure designed to address key challenges in water sustainability and flood mitigation. The visit will include:
-
Rain Garden of "Patrulla Aguila"
This innovative rain garden exemplifies how functionality can be maximized with minimal visual impact. Guided by experts, participants will learn about its smart design and discuss the role of corrugation piping in optimizing water flow and system durability. -
Collection Basin Pond
Designed to reduce overflows, this basin pond works in tandem with a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) to separate wastewater and harvest rain. The session will explore WWTP management challenges, including the impact of high salinity from water tables on treatment processes. -
Torre-Pacheco Storm Tank
Built to manage stormwater during periods of frequent rainfall, this facility demonstrates effective maintenance strategies for storm tanks in regions experiencing seasonal flooding.
This guided tour provides a hands-on learning experience, offering you the chance to discuss real-world challenges and innovative solutions in water management with local experts.
