EU_SHAFE Heart of Slovenia 5th Stakeholders Meeting. Director of the Development Centre of the Heart of Slovenia Mojca Štepic welcomed the participants. On-line (SI).

The Development Centre of the Heart of Slovenia hosted the 5th Stakeholder Meeting of the EU_SHAFE project, on October 20, 2021, which was held virtually due to COVID19 restrictions. In total, 16 participants represented local institutions for the elderly, municipalities and NGOs.

Good practices were shared by both institutions and Ministries. The Development Centre of the Heart of Slovenia presented 8 selected good practices, selected from the EU_SHAFE Assessment Report,  that enable better quality of life for the elderly in the field of health and community services, namely: Older people's working group, Detecting and preventing economic and physical abuse of older people, Alkar zaintzen and Serious Games to promote Health and wellbeing from Spain; Blue-Line from Portugal; NetzWerk GesundAktiv from Germany; Ardee Age Friendly Town from Ireland. There was one cross-cutting good practice presented from Hamburg AGQua.

Participants discussed and evaluated the good practices after the presentation, and learned about what is already being implemented in Slovenia and what can be transferred into its local environment. Participants were the most interested in NetzWerk GesundAktiv from Hamburg, Serious Games to promote Health and wellbeing from Spain and Ardee Age Friendly Town from Ireland. Digital solutions that are easy to use and make quality of life of elderly better, are very appreciated and the participants wanted to learn more about it. They pointed out that Slovenia needs on national level user-friendly digital solutions to communicate with the doctor. There are also some municipalities in Slovenia that are already working on to become elderly-friendly municipalities and good practice Ardee Age Friendly Town can definitely provide great examples.

After a group evaluation of each good practice, there was also a presentation of the upcoming activities of the Local Action Group (LAG) Heart of Slovenia project “Point for Elderly”. The project was granted as a result of the policy change achieved within the EU_SHAFE project. More information on this can be found HERE
