Last 27 December, state funding for the new Tram line “T2 Pendolina-Fiera” was made official. Indeed, the decree, signed by the Minister of Infrastructure Giovannini, allocates 359 million euros of funding to the city of Brescia. The financing will almost entirely cover the cost for the execution of the work, amounting to 363 million euros. The near future will now be devoted to drawing up the final project. The current design envisages the construction of an 11.6 km line with 24 stops, with terminus at Pendolina and Fiera and passing through via Volturno, via Mazzini, rail station, via Corsica and via Orzinuovi, with a double interchange with the underground (at San Faustino and railway station stops). The aim is to inaugurate the work at the beginning of 2029. This infrastructure will make Brescia an increasingly sustainable city which provides citizens with increasingly green public transport services.
