On 19th October, the first working table of the CIS (Calabria Institutional Development Contract) took place at the headquarter of the Ministry for the South, in Rome. This first meeting kicked off the process that will enable all the municipalities and entities in the Calabria Region to develop projects in the field of sustainable mobility, as well as in other strategic sectors including the environment, transport, natural resources, urban regeneration and tourism. The aim of the CIS is precisely to support and speed up investments in economic and social development, sustainable mobility, environmental protection and the promotion of tourism and culture, in order to achieve full territorial cohesion by supporting the most disadvantaged areas. The interventions will be financed with ordinary national and European resources as well as with trough the Development and Cohesion Fund. Moreover, the financed intervention will have to be identified through project consultation with local authorities, making them proactive, in a shared process that allows for strategic solutions, and projects.
