On 21st and 22nd of May, Design for Innovation partners and their stakeholders will gather in Cardiff, capital of Wales, for the sixth combined knowledge exchange workshop, steering committee meeting and study visit. The meeting will be hosted by the lead partner - PDR, design and research centre based at Cardiff Metropolitan University.

The workshop will focus on finalising the action plans and preparing for the implementation, particularly on discussing the most effective ways of building capacity for design among business support organisations who interface directly with SMEs. We will look into detail at the capacity development methods such as training, involvement in collaborative projects, working directly with designers on support offer improvement, linking with academia, design centres and business support, developing toolkits, and building communities centred around collective purpose such as clusters or platforms.

The partner will also have a chance to hear about how design can be applied to improving a service offering of a large financial services provider and learn how cluster of creative industries is using service design to develop their offer for the cluster members. Study visit will also include the Inc Space at CSAD – incubation programme for graduates and Rabble Studio, a co-creation community space.
