The cultural and creative sectors (CCS) perform well in terms of growth, jobs and crisis resilience. They are also a driver for innovation. It is therefore worth investing more in these sectors when building the future of Europe. In addition to their economic importance, the cultural and creative sectors have an additional asset: the potential to generate positive change, in and for society, by strengthening people’s well-being. The European innovation policy framework needs to reflect further on the social and well-being aspects of the cultural and creative sectors as they are able to provide innovative solutions for problems in our societies.

Regional Development Agency of the Ljubljana Urban Region (RRA LUR) is the partner in CRE: HUB project, which aims to improve the implementation of regional development policies and programs that support small and medium-sized enterprises of the cultural and creative sector at all stages of their life cycle. Many project activities are carried out in cooperation with stakeholders and partners, because we believe that this is the right way to achieve positive results and an opportunity to strengthen the sector .

In the past year RRA LUR prepared the regional and SWOT analysis (1) " State of Art of the CCI Sector in Ljubljana Urban Region" and outlined the document (2) "Roadmap: Culture and Creative Industry Strategy in Slovenia", where we defined the key goals that derive from the territory.

Continously, combining top – down and bottom – up approach in collaboration with the stakeholders from the region in form of workshops, interviews and focus groups and on the basis of the Roadmap document, we developed (3) measures for the Action Plan, with the aim of empowering and contributing to the development of this sector. Together with decision - makers and policy – makers we've examined the feasibility of the measures, that were prepared in cooperation with the key stakeholders from this field. Measures are the basis for preparation of the (4) Action plan document, which is the main objective of the project. RRA LUR through this document and other implemented activities in the framework of the CRE:HUB project makes efforts to present concrete proposals to key decision-makers and policy - makers working in this field to improve the status of this sector.
Measures that were prepared (3) in the participatory process, involving key stakeholders in this field are presented on RRA LUR web page in Slovenian language. The document was edited by RRA LUR in collaboration with the Pekinpah Association. RRA LUR thanks all the partners and stakeholders for their cooperation.
