CHERRY’s 2-day Transnational Study Visit was concluded successfully on February 27, 2025, in Marseille, delivering a blend of cultural exploration and inspiration!

Hosted by Region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, the event began at La Friche Belle de Mai with an opening session and a keynote speech from the Region’s Culture Head Department, highlighting innovative ways to valorize cultural and natural assets. Participants then dove into a guided tour of La Friche, led by Elisabeth Becharra, showcasing its transformation into a vibrant creative hub.

The day continued with a visit to the CICRP (Interdisciplinary Centre for Heritage Conservation), where a detailed presentation revealed cutting-edge conservation techniques, followed by an exploration of La Citadelle and the Montée du Souvenir Français—complete with breathtaking views and a reminder to wear comfy shoes! The evening offered a cultural treat with a stop at the historic Jeanne Laffitte bookstore and a delicious dinner at Les Arcenaulx on Cours d'Estienne d'Orves.

Day two started with a scenic walk from the Umbrella of the Old Port to Cosquer Mediterranée, where an opening session set the stage for an immersive visit. Guided in groups by venue representatives, attendees experienced the site’s remarkable recreation of prehistoric cave art, followed by lunch at Cosquer Restaurant.

The afternoon brought two compelling presentations on Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) projects, sparking dynamic discussions among participants. A closing session wrapped up the key insights, and for those with extra time, an optional stroll to Mucem’s Terrasse provided a stunning backdrop for reflection. Thoughtfully organized with contributions from Region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur and our valued partners, these two days wove together cultural discovery, professional exchange, and Marseille’s unique charm—leaving a lasting impact on all who joined!
