CECI Interreg Project is urging citizens to reduce and recycle their waste in the latest CECI video

Our village for zero waste – is based on a very successful CECI good practice The citizen pays for municipal waste management, according to the amount of waste as a “Polluter pays” principle. The good practice aims to prevent the generation of municipal waste and reduce the amount of mixed waste, as well as to increase the waste collected for recycling.

CECI aims at improving and developing regional policies through promoting citizen involvement in circular economy. Changes in consumption patterns are essential when striving towards lengthening product life cycles through reuse, repair, remanufacturing and refurbishment as well as energy saving. At the same time, the adoption of sharing economy reduces the need for new products and the generation of waste. In the project, Good Practices on citizen involvement are transferred related especially to sharing economy services e.g. tool/toy library, and repair services.
