THE REGIONAL COUNCIL OF PAYS DE LA LOIRE WELCOMED BIOREGIO PARTNERS AND STAKEHOLDERS FOR THE FIRST DAY OF THE 6th INTERREGIONAL EVENT IN NANTES (FRANCE)

The Association of the Chambers of Agriculture of the Atlantic Area (AC3A) and the Regional Council of Pays de la Loire were delighted to welcome BIOREGIO partners and stakeholders at the Regional Council building in Nantes (France), for the first day of the 6th and last interregional event of the BIOREGIO project.

Jean-Michel BUF, Vice-President Circular Economy at the Regional Council of Pays de la Loire, started the day by giving a wide and detailed presentation of the policy situation at different scales: firstly with the European and national strategies related to circular economy and bioeconomy. Secondly, he drew the outlines of the Regional Plan for Circular Economy, which aims at fostering a paradigm change to consume fewer resources and recycle more waste.

All partner regions then presented their regional action plan on bio-based circular economy, developed in the framework of the BIOREGIO project, which gave different perspectives and methods of tackling the topic, taking into account the territorial characteristic.

Partners then had interesting and enriching discussions on achievements in BIOREGIO regions within 2017-2019 which allowed partners to exchange their good practices and assess them in a second time throughout the dynamic workshop!

After this day of fruitful work and exchanges, all partners headed to the countryside within the beautiful local region: Les Mauges, to have their steering group, which allowed everyone to be on the right track for the second day, ready to visit the local good practices.
