On 23rd of May 2018, the National R&D Institute for Industrial Ecology - ECOIND organized a matchmaking event in Phoenicia Hotel in Bucharest about the role of RD&I in waste management in Romania. The title of the event was REALITIES AND PERSPECTIVES REGARDING THE USE OF RD&I POTENTIAL IN THE FIELD OF WASTE MANAGEMENT.

The event aimed to identify practical ways of supporting the implementation of the National Waste Management Plan. 


Mihaela Frincu from ICECHIM (SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT IN CHEMICAL AND PETROCHEMICAL INDUSTRY) at the event.

The conference has been attended by representatives of ministries, public authorities, RDI institutes, universities, professional associations and economic agents interested in the field of waste management. Altogether, around 60  people participated at the event. 

The main topics of discussion were the obstacles in implementing the National Waste Management Plan and identifying possible solutions towards zero waste through a circular economy.

On this occasion, Icechim Calarasi presented Good Practices identified in BIOREGIO project related to the management of municipal organic waste. The audience was very interested in BIOREGIO project itself and the project’s future plans and steps.
