The Slovenian partners implemented a PILOT ACTION for Ljubljana Marsh Nature Park inspired by the  the Biodiversity Audit approach, a Good Practice developed by the University of East Anglia. The first results are promising and were shared and discussed at local on-line stakeholder workshop organized for Park managers and decision makers from the Ministries and the Institute of Republic of Slovenia for Nature Conservation.

The Biodiversity Audit is a landscape-scale and evidence-based approach where all existing biodiversity data for selected area is collated, prioritized and then their ecological requirements are defined by experts. At the end, the species are organized into groups with similar ecological requirements (i.e., management guilds). This evidence-based approach support decision making in nature conservation, such as providing information, for example, how many and which species will be preserved if we undertake specific conservation measures.
