In the frame of the Covid-19 crisis, Netflix has provided € 1 million to establish a Support Fund for TV and Cinema. The Fund will be managed by Italian Film Commissions, the Association of the nineteen Italian Film Commissions. It aims to support the professionals and workers of the Italian audiovisual sector who are most affected by the productions’ shutdown resulting from the Coronavirus spread.

“We are happy to work with Italian Film Commissions to support the professionals of television and cinema sector most affected by this emergency. Film crews and professionals have always been vital for the success of Netflix and today we want to do our part and help those who most need in this unprecedented moment we are living” declared Felipe Tewes, Director of Netflix Original Series for Europe and Africa.

“In this moment that requires special efforts, the Italian film commissions, with their dynamism and presence on the territory, will bring with Netflix the support to crews and professionals who are most affected by the cessation of activities. Being at the service of the audiovisual sector with a company like Netflix represents a significant occasion and dedicating this fund to audiovisual workers is an important action, which we hope will inspire other players” stated Cristina Priarone, President of IFC – Italian Film Commissions.
