AgroRES project partner Regional Council of North Karelia from Finland, organises the project's second Interregional Event on 20 October 2020.

The event introduces case examples of renewable energy investments and projects from agricultural and rural sectors. The day starts with a presentation of North Karelia and its strategic work on renewable energy. This is followed by two thematic sessions on the region's experiences related to sustainable energy. The first session showcases regional biomass investments implemented by Eno Energy Cooperative (biomass district heating plants) and Biokymppi Ltd (biogas plant). The second session focuses on introducing EU co-financed projects and their measures to support the production and use of renewable energy. This includes presentation of a bioeconomy learning environment Sirkkala Energy Park which is managed by Karelia University of Applied Sciences.

After these presentations, there will be a workshop on AgroRES project’s best practices. All practices listed in the project database will be discussed: www.interregeurope.eu/agrores/good-practices/. The aim is to find out which of the practices have the most potential to be transferred to other regions.

The event is free and takes place online. Register by using the link below.
