Funding for Interreg Europe projects is allocated through ‘calls for project proposals’ – certain times during the year when applications can be submitted. Each call has an opening and closing date, and any applications received outside of these dates will not be considered. Applications are submitted online, via Interreg Europe’s online system. The system may be available before the call opens, so applicants can register and prepare their application but the ‘Submit Application’ button will only be active during an open call.
A terms of reference is published for each call (see example below - related to the second call). This may stipulate specific criteria that apply for that call e.g. the maximum amount of funding available, the topics open for funding and so on.
Interreg Europe had so far two calls for project proposals (2015 & 2016 - details below). The decision on a possible third call for project proposals will be taken by the end of 2016. Considering the results of the first call and the applications received under the second call, the organisation of a third call is very likely.
The second call for projects closed on 13 May 2016. An overview of the 211 applications received is available here
