Concept designs for the planned department store

The 1st stakeholder meeting in Leipzig aimed to introduce the Interreg Europe project "WEEEWaste" and explore its potential synergy with the Leipzig Energy and Climate Action Programme 2023 (EKSP). The agenda included a general presentation of Interreg Europe, an overview of WEEEWaste, and a presentation by the marketing agency in charge of a planned "Second Life Concept Store" in Leipzig.

It is developed under "Zukunftsfähige Zentren Leipzig (ZZL)” which is a federal programme to counteract vacancies and revitalize the city center. It aims to promote sustainability and environmental consciousness by offering reusable and refurbished goods and focuses on circular economy principles, including reducing waste, conserving resources, repairing, and encouraging sustainable consumption. Stakeholders discussed interfaces for successful collaboration between WEEEWaste and the Second Life Concept Store, highlighting the latter as a good practice model.

The commitment to close collaboration, regional cooperation, and thus avoiding duplication of efforts was emphasized.
