The first exchange of experience of Financial Instruments for Innovation project (Innova-FI) will be held in Brussels, Belgium on 6 and 7 November 2018.

The meeting organised by the advisor partner (SERN) in collaboration with IVACE aims to present to the partners and their stakeholders the tool ‘Financing innovation', mainly its characteristics and tentative indicators to measure the real impact of the tool.

The database tool to evaluate how regions are currently using financial instruments for the support of highly innovative businesses, will be a matrix made of three axes:

  1. Type of innovation (product, process, prototype, market test, seed, start-up, growin);
  2. Type of financial instrument being used (capital seed, capital risk, guarantees, etc.);
  3. Type of sources (Public funds: ERDF, ESF, National, Regional…, and Private funds: business angels, family office, venture capital…).

The tool will allow to know the state-of-play and starting point in the different partner regions and will allow to make a consistent comparison between regions. It will also facilitate the selection of case studies and best practices in participating regions to present during the study visits.

The event agenda will soon be available in the 'Library' section of the website.
