• Seneca said once: 'the road to learning by precept is long, but by example short and effective'. We could not agree more and that why the e-smartec Consortium joined efforts to collected 76 local and international Good Practices.

The collection of Good Practices on citizens’ and stakeholders engagement in Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) will be used to provide tailored guidelines to stakeholders in our six project regions: Region of Central Macedonia, West Midlands Region, Lazio Region, Bratislava Self-Governing Region, Venlo Region and the State of Hessen.

This year, e-smartec is planning to organise six hands-on training and six plenary stakeholders meetings to enhance the SUMPs development. Policy-makers and academics will benefit from the  knowledge of different European-funded projects, which have been summarised in the e-smartec reports available here.

The first report describes the 32 Good Practices that come from the six project areas and second state-of-the-art compilation focuses on 44 Good Practices collected outside our regions. All focused on how regions and cities in Europe have successfully used creative marketing and engagement techniques to involve citizens and stakeholder in the SUMPs process.

Thank you to all who contributed to this crucial e-smartec milestone. We are looking forward to starting using them to make European regions' SUMPs path shorter and more effective!

End.
