On May 5th the lead partner launched the first web peer review meeting. The DIALOG partnership with a broad group of stakeholders approached a new methodology of peer reviewing. Due to the outbreak of the Covid - 19 study visits and in presence peer reviews had to be cancelled but nonetheless the aim of discussing and presenting local practices on social dialogue was met. Local Ministry for local entities and relations with the Provincial Council Mattia Gottardi virtually welcomed the partnership and underlined the historical importance of social dialogue especially also in light of the current events and emergencies.

To give some figures: 6 different countries were involved and about 45 people among project officers and stakeholders joined the event. This meeting, organized and guided by the Autonomous Province of Trento, officially opened the second semester.

Under the spotlight of this web peer review ther were Trentino’s stakeholders who presented 4 case studies on social dialogue applicated in different fields such as: tourism, rural development, welfare and creation of cooperative and circular economy.

Here below a brief summary of each proposed case study, which is also available on the official YouTube channel of DIALOG.

• "National Strategy Internal Areas - the Tesino case" - presented by Flavio Marchetti - officer at the Europe Service of the Autonomous Province of Trento. The aim of this strategy is that of developing rural areas. Such areas are ideintified by statical indicators (ageing of population, presence of services and distance from main centers). In this case social dialogue tried to put together citizenship, public bodies and technical coordinators in order to relaunch the whole area;

• "Trentino Solidarity Fund" presented by Andrea Grosselli, general secretary of the CGIL Trentino. The fund is an instrument developed in cooperation between micro, small and medium enterprises alongside with social parties and labour unions. Through this tool, and on a voluntary base, it was possible trough social dialog and mediaton to create wage integrating measures (lay-offs and similars) and to guarantee aside from income support, paths for continuous training for sesonal and mature workers;

• "Digital platform for the development and management of local territorial welfare networks" presented by Raul Daoli - project manager at the Trentino Federation of Cooperation. This welfare platform is a virtual place where innovation and the territory meet. The aim is that of creating a socio-economic ecosystem capable of generating new high social-value services, allowing an equal and ethical distribution of welfare and well-being on the territory;

• "Study visits in Trentino" presented by Davide Cardella of ASAT - Association of Hoteliers and Tourism Companies of Trentino. Tourism sector is vital for Trentino, in this practice ASAT shows how school education, natural parks and the hotel sector can interact by enhancing and promoting the territory.

Partners and stakeholders have shown great interest and participation, discussion was lively and key aspects were identified and fully absorbed. Still to further investigate is transferability level of the case studies to different national contexts.

On a side note the methodology of presentation and the online meeting were highly appreciated and the participants themselves recognized the high value of the organized activity, given the circumstances the upcoming events will be similarly organized.

In conclusion, the event gave rise to an interesting discussion which will continue in the following months with peer reviews organized by the other project partners.
