EIT Climate-KIC is a European knowledge and innovation community, working towards a prosperous, inclusive, climate-resilient society founded on a circular, zero-carbon economy. Before the recent launch of its new Investor Marketplace, there was a matchmaking event to offer a glimpse of how the platform could influence the relations between investors and startups.

This event was held in the Imperial College of London at the end of August, in which ten investors met ten sustainable startups. The event was structured as six 20-minute meetings, followed by 30 minutes of networking; the EIT Climate-KIC’s plan is to host this kind of event once or twice a year in different European cities, encouraging a network effect.

Investor Marketplace aims at connecting investors with climate change start-ups across Europe. By registering to the Investor Marketplace, startups may enjoy many benefits: they can be a visible part of the largest cleantech platform of its type, attract investors, start dialogues in an efficient way and accelerate the time until investment. The platform now hosts approximately 100 startups from different sectors and expects to scale up to 200 after just six months.
