The fifth meeting of the Silesian regional stakeholders was held online on December 9, and addressed the topic of "Industry 4.0 in technological specializations of the Silesian Voivodeship and development prospects in the context of RIS".

The aim of the meeting is to identify the challenges and opportunities for creating policies related to the implementation of the Industry 4.0 concept in the context of supporting enterprises and institutions operating in the field of technology for medicine. The area of medicine is particularly important in the Silesia region - it is one of the regional smart specializations.



During the meeting, a representative of the Marshal's Office presented activities planned in the regional Action Plan. The region's activities aimed at improving the quality of vocational education and adapting the educational offer to the needs of the labor market were also discussed in more detail. During the meeting, the challenges and expectations in the field of technology for medicine related to the implementation of the Industry 4.0 concept were discussed.

During the meeting, Prof. Zbigniew Nawrat presented the experience and the importance of robotics for the work of the Foundation for the Development of Cardiac Surgery (prof. Zbigniew Religa). The Robin Heart robot and a research workshop from the FRK robotics laboratory were also presented. The concept of the Innovation Showroom was also presented - in the area of medical robotics.





After all, presentations were completed, a moderated discussion was held on the activities presented in the Action Plan. Regional stakeholders confirmed the need to support activities aimed at the development of digitization, robotization as well as raising qualifications and competencies in this area. As emphasized by the regional experts participating in the workshops, it is particularly important in the field of medicine in the Silesian Voivodeship to maintain the high status of this area and its importance in the country.
