On October 12th, the fourth stakeholder meeting of Silesia region, entitled "Industry 4.0 in technological specializations in the Silesian Voivodeship and development prospects in the context of RIS ”, was held online.

The aim of the meeting was to identify the challenges and opportunities for creating policies related to the implementation of the Industry 4.0 concept to strengthen technological specializations in the Silesian Voivodeship.

During the meeting, a representative of the Marshal's Office presented activities planned in the regional Action Plan. The region's activities aimed at improving the quality of vocational education and adapting the educational offer to the needs of the labor market under the Śląskie project were also discussed in more detail.

During the meeting, the experiences from implementing the idea of Industry 4.0 were also discussed, both of local governments (Jastrzębie Zdrój commune) and of university units (Silesian University of Technology, Łukasiewicz Research Network Institute). Representatives of Business Environment Institutions (TechnoPark Gliwice, Agencja Rozwoju Regionalnego S.A. in Bielsko-Biała) spoke about the activities carried out regarding support for the digital transformation of companies. At the meeting, the business position was presented by a representative of Human centric 4.0.

After the end of all presentations, a moderated discussion was held on the experiences so far and on the scope of activities proposed in the Action Plan in the field of digital transformation in enterprises and public sector entities in the Silesian Voivodeship. Stakeholders confirmed the need to support and develop the so-called soft services and strengthening information and promotion activities. One of the most important actions necessary to be undertaken was the improvement of employees' competences and support for the development of the staff and infrastructure of BEI for the provision of services for SMEs.
